Distinctive iconic butterflies and bold colour schemes are often
featured in my highly recognisable, graphic, pop art style work.
A modern, graphic approach is employed yet used to focus on the
timeless and eternal.
My work celebrates and encourages going beyond the modern world
of consumerism, to escape, transcend, and to dream.
Perhaps the butterfly is me, perhaps the butterfly is you, perhaps
the butterfly is everyone. Perhaps it's just a butterfly.
I began experimenting with graphics around the age of twelve.
I have a BSc (Hons) degree in
Media Technology and a background of creating stretching back
over twenty years.
In 2010 I am also exhibiting at Eyestorm (London), Affordable
Art Fair (with Art*) (London), Opus Underground (Newcastle),
Fisherton Mill (Salisbury) and Goblets Gallery (Southampton).
I have previously shown at WWT (Slimbridge),
The Atkinson Gallery (Southport), Gosport Gallery, Worthing Museum,
Chameleon Gallery (Brighton) and was one of ten finalists at Brighton
Artist 2005.

'His work looks as though it should be accompanied by a musicians
name as on record covers and
album posters - but this work is not a tool for publicity, it
only advertises itself' - Eyestorm

'Othen creates aesthetically powerful images' - Opus Underground
